Students Intimidated into Giving Fingerprints

Students at Ku-ring-gai High School in Sydney were intimidated into having their fingerprints scanned on Tuesday. Even though some students had exemption notes they were told their prints would be scanned anyway and the child could opt out later.

Alison Page's grade 10 daughter & other students were told "their parents were idiots for not agreeing." Students in a grade 12 English exam were not allowed to leave until they submitted. They were not allowed to take their exemptions into the exam.

Chris Gurman said, "My daughter was the only one who refused. She's read 1984. When she refused to co-operate, a teacher let her out of the room." NSW Education Minister said it wasn't a government nor department initiative.

Man Spends 14 Years on Death Row, Freed

Attorney Frank Goldsmith said,I'm feeling elation, but in addition to the joy and the elation I feel, I also feel anger — anger for how long this wrong took to be righted."

Superior Court Judge Robert C. Ervin said in the ruling that evidence in the murder case had either been lost destroyed or withheld.

Peruvians Accuses Chavez of Meddling.

Peru's current govt is cautious of Hugo Chavez and without lack of proof suspects him of creating strife by using his country's oil wealth to foment unrest. It is noted that the very mention of his creates a negative stir in the country.

They are skeptical of the Venezuelan initiative ALBA, which is an alternative to the US's freetrade deals, citing the suspicious emergence of several organizations supporting the Bolivarian Alternative.

However on the March 25 Chávez dismissed allegations of his govt having a hand in ALBA houses. A lawyer named Mr. Apari is quoted as saying "It is almost pathological the way the government and media have tried to make Chávez Peru's principal proble

Survey: Drinking Bleach Prevents HIV, Mountain Dew Prevents Pregnancy

Florida legislators are encouraging a review of their "abstinence only" sex education programs after a recent survey completed by Florida teens returned some curious results.

According to some of the teens, drinking bleach will prevent an HIV infection, and a dose of Mountain Dew soda will stop pregnancy. Knowledge of condoms and other forms of sexual health appeared to be comparatively lacking.

State officials believe that the myths are spreading due to the lone focus on abstinence, rather than other proven methods which encourage sexual health. A new, more comprehensive Bill has been drawn, and has passed its first committee vote.

Technician Suspended After Porn is Broadcast on National TV

French Polynesia: A technician at TNTV has been suspended without pay for a week after a series of mistakes which led to 3 minutes of an adult movie including 52 seconds of explicit porn being broadcast on national television.

The porn was broadcast a short time after the end of a religious program and resulted in a number of phone complaints to the station. A union is pressing TNTV to take stronger action against their employee.

According to Haupert Ives, general director of TNTV, the technician attempted to watch adult content while taping another program off the satellite. He accidentally taped what he was watching and then neglected to verify the recording.

Apple Sued Over New iMac Screens

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple by Texas woman Chandra Sanders, after she found her new iMac's 20 inch screen showed less colours than the previous model. The suit states the screen shows 262, 144 true colours.

This is 98% less than the previous 20-inch iMac. Law firm Labateck Brown Kellner said: "Apple is duping its customers into thinking they're buying 'new and improved' when in fact they're getting stuck with 'new and inferior."

It added it was going ahead with the suit because "Beneath Apple's 'good guy' image is a corporation that takes advantage of its customers. Our goal is to help those customers who were deceived and make sure Apple tells the truth in the future."

Bush The Movie

Controversial movie director Oliver Stone is putting his latest production entitled “W” which will focus on the life of George W Bush into overdrive in order to finish it before the November presidential elections.

Stone in the past has made movies about Jim Morrison, Fidel Castro and JFK and promises his latest production will deal with the question "How did Bush go from being an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world?"

Bush will be played by Josh Breslin with Elizabeth Banks of Spider Man fame playing the role of the first lady.
