Threw Himself on Exploding Grenade and Got a Nosebleed

Lance Corporal Matt Croucher has been recommended for a Victoria Cross for his bravery in Southern Afghanistan. Corporal Croucher put himself between the exploding grenade and his colleagues when he tripped the wire in a booby trap.

He wanted to do whatever it took to save his three colleagues and added that they had saved him on a number of occasions.

Corporal Croucher put his back to the grenade as it explode knowing that the grenade had 'a killing circumference of five metres'. The backpack he had on took the force of the blast and he walked away with 'a nosebleed' and ringing in his ears.

Anonymous Hackers Create Epileptic Fits

Anonymous "hackers" caused epileptic fits in users of an epilepsy forum. In this attack, possibly the first computer attack to inflict physical harm on the victims, the unknown attackers created hundreds forum entries with flashing pictures.

A 33-year-old woman who suffers from epilepsy clicked on a forum post which caused her screen to be filled with a rapidly flashing pattern in different colors. She locked up and could not move until turned away by her 11 year old son.

Wired.com reports that evidence suggests the attack was the work of members of Anonymous, an informal collective best known for their recent DDOS attacks on the Church of Scientology.

Saudi Arabia Preparing for Nuclear Fallout from US Attack on Iran

Saudi newspaper Okaz claims that the government of Saudi Arabia is preparing the kingdom for the nuclear fallout which could reach the area if the US attacks nuclear installations in Iran.

The news comes days after US Vice President, Dick Cheney’s visit to the country. Some experts claim the Bush Administration is on the brink of launching an attack against Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactors and is warning neighboring allies.
