Green Bay man, 43, accused of assaulting teen girl

Convicted sex offender living in duplex owned by Brown Co. sheriff

A 43-year-old convicted sex offender living in a duplex owned by Brown County Sheriff Dennis Kocken is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old runaway, the Green Bay Press-Gazette has learned.  Christopher Streckenbach, of Green Bay is facing two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child and eight counts of photographing a minor without consent as a registered sex offender.  Ashwaubenon Public Safety officers spotted the girl — a known runaway — at Bay Park Square mall on Jan. 2. Streckenback was with her at the mall, but left before officers could talk to him.  The girl later told investigators she met Streckenbach after placing an escort ad in a local entertainment newspaper. She said she was with him seven or eight times and was at his house three or four times, according to court records.  The girl said the two touched each other in a sexual manner, but did not have sex, the criminal complaint said.  She said he paid her for the sexual encounters and offered to pay her more to spend the night, according to the affidavit filed with the warrant to search Streckenbach's home.  Ashwaubenon Public Safety officers found photos of the 15-year-old runaway on a disposable camera as well as sex toys and 34 photos of naked young women, according to the inventory from the Jan. 4 search.  he duplex — in the 1300 block of Dousman Street — had been rented to Streckenbach for about two years, Kocken said Monday. That means Streckenbach was exempt from Green Bay's sex offender registry law restricting where sex offenders can live in the city.  "If I had known that Chris Streckenbach was doing something illegal, I would have arrested him myself," Kocken said.  Kocken said he knew Streckenbach had a criminal record when he rented the duplex. Kocken said he worked closely with Streckenbach's probation agent and corrections supervisors and talked to Streckenbach regularly.  Kocken said Ashwaubenon officers told him about the situation, and he accompanied them when they served the warrant.  Officers used Kocken's handcuffs to detain Streckenbach, the sheriff said.  Streckenbach was sentenced to two years prison in June 2002 for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on Halloween 2001.  He is due back in court on the current charges on Friday.

Man, 25, Calls Police to Confess After Using Hunting Rifle to Kill Both Parents

Florida: 25-year-old Bay County man Ricky Morris calmly confessed to a 911 operator to killing both parents with a hunting rifle Sunday evening and wished to be arrested by deputies. "Hey dog, I killed my mom and dad," he said to a dispatcher.

"Matter of fact, I'll be waiting by the gate. I ain't got no guns or nothing. They're dead buddy. They just got shot, you all come by and pick me up," said Morris. His brother was also on his hit list. He alleged his parents had abused a family member.

Morris, who has spent time in the state mental institution and is on probation for a firearm violation, also said he killed them because they said he had schizophrenia. He stayed on the phone for nine minutes until police showed up to arrest him.

Schoolgirl Moves In With Teacher Lover

UK: 16-year-old schoolgirl Jess Anderson has devastated her family by moving in with her lover, her 49-year-old former RE teacher, Clive Richards. Her family were unaware of the relationship until Jess dropped the bombshell that she was leaving home.

Her mother, Frances had telephoned Jess when she was late home from school. Jess told her that she had sent her an email and that she should read it then call back. The email broke the news of her affair that she was moving in with her lover.

Jess' grandparents have tried reasoning with her to go back home to her mother, but she insists that she is in love and that she wants to live with Richards.

Since Jess is 16, Social Services are unable to intervene in the situation.

Yahoo! Could Seek Google Help

Following the official bid of a buyout from Microsoft, Yahoo! has said it may be contemplating an alliance with Google to avoid the buyout. Microsoft has offered $44.6 billion for the company, which Yahoo believes undervalues it.In a memo written to employees last week, Yahoo said: "We want to emphasize that absolutely no decisions have been made -- and, despite what some people have tried to suggest, there's certainly no integration process underway."A Wall Street Journal report stated that Google CEO Eric Schmidt rang Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang to personally offer his support. However, Google did not confirm or deny the report.

EBay to Ban Seller Reviews Reflecting Badly on Buyers

Internet auction giant eBay has announced its plans to ban sellers from giving negative reviews to buyers. The plan has come about because the company has found that sellers retaliate to bad views from buyers by leaving their own bad views.

The plan will go into effect in May, meaning sellers will no longer be allowed to leave unfavourable or neutral buyer views. It will apply on all eBay sites across the globe. The announcement has angered many eBay sellers.

EBay answered critics of the plan, stating: "If a buyer doesn't pay, the seller can easily contact eBay, we will review any complaint and maybe remove the buyer." It then said, however, that only a small number of sellers leave negative feedback.

Improve Your Sex Life - Wear High Heels

The results of a study by Dr. Maria Cerruto, a urologist, claims to have found a link between wearing high heels and pelvic floor muscle improvement. Cerruto's goal was to prove that high heels are not as bad for women's health as has been previously suggested. Her study contends that women who two inch heels had posture that was as good as women who wore flat shoes. Dr. Cerruto believes that wearing high heels might be the solution for women who want to exercise their pelvic zone.

Study Warns of Shampoo in Infant Urine

A recent study by a University of Washington team suggests that baby shampoos and other such infant related products could expose babies to chemicals linked to reproductive complications.

The small scale study measured phthalates; chemicals found in many medical supplies as well as household products like toys and vinyl flooring and found elevated traces of these chemicals in baby’s urine when the baby had been shampooed.

Some countries have strict controls on the use of phthalates and although their use is not restricted by the federal government it is in California. The study involved 163 infants and was published in this month’s issue of the journal Pediatrics.

George Clooney Vows To Fight On Despite UN Snub

George Clooney was left with a bruised ego when he paid a visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York on Thursday because some delegates refused to let him speak.

The new U.N. Messenger of Peace was hoping to convince the nations that contribute troops to the 17 official peacekeeping missions to offer further help and assistance to refugees in Darfur.

But delegates from Russia and France decided they didn't need a movie star to tell them what to do and they refused to let him speak publicly.

After his visit, Clooney joked, "There are groups that don't feel that I necessarily class up the joint and don't feel that I should be speaking to them."

The actor/director's visit came just two days after he returned from a two-week fact-finding trip to Darfur with the U.N. assistant secretary general of peacekeeping operations. He insists he isn't going to let delegates and politicians simply ignore him because he has too much to say about the problems he has seen in Africa.

He adds, "I think what moves me the most about this entire trip was the fact that I was in Chad two years ago, and it's worse now there than when I was there. And that Sudan isn't particularly better now."

During Clooney's U.N. visit on Thursday, rebels were fighting Chad's official military for control of the African nation's capital.
