Teen Turns Pro Party Organizer
An Australian teenager who threw a party while his parents were away
and caused an estimated A$20,000 ($18,000; £9,200) worth of damage says
he’s giving up his career as a carpenter to DJ and host parties instead.
Corey Delaney, 16, became a household name in Australia when 500
teenagers attended a party at his home in Melbourne that became so out
of hand that even local police investigating ran in fear of drunken
guests. Corey told local TV reporters: "Working on a building site was
pretty hard. Now I've got a manager, life's good." Adding, "Best party
ever, that's what everyone's saying."
Spate of Teen Suicides Spark Internet Concerns
Welsh MP Madeleine Moon has voiced concerns over the romanticizing of
suicide on the Internet after seven teens killed themselves in her area
over the last year. Police are investigating whether or not the teens
had online contact. They each knew each other in some form. Ms. Moon
said: "I'm particularly concerned about this false romanticism of the
memory wall that seems to have set up on Bebo giving some sort of
romantic idea of suicide and not conveying the huge tragedy..." Police
stressed they had found no evidence of a suicide pact or bond between
the seven people.
Hackers Say They Will "dismantle" Scientology
An internet group of hackers which goes by the name of "Anonymous"
has declared an electronic war on the Church of Scientology over the
churches attempts to remove a video of Tom Cruise from the Internet.
"Anonymous" claim their planned attack is for the good of mankind saying
in a youtube statement they have “decided that your organization should
be destroyed, for the good of your followers, for the good of mankind
and for our own enjoyment." A website set up by the group provides tools
to send Scientology.org fake requests in order to slow it down, urges
people to make prank calls and send loops of black pages to the Church
of Scientology’s fax machines to waste ink.

Teen Planned to Hijack Plane, Crash
Into Hannah Montana Concert
A 16 year old boy was taken into custody on Tuesday
evening after it was discovered he planned on hijacking a
Southwest flight and crashing it into a Hannah Montana
concert in Louisiana on Friday evening. The teen was found
with rope and handcuffs in his possession, which is what
authorities believe he was going to subdue the flight crew
with. It is not known how authorities found out about the
teen's plans, or if it was part of a bigger plot.
Al-Qaeda Threaten Blair and Brown with
Assassination
Al-Qaeda have threatened to assassinate British Prime
Minister, Gordon Brown and ex-Prime Minister, Tony Blair if
the British government doesn’t withdraw it’s troops from
Iraq and Afghanistan. Posted in an al-Qaeda-affiliated web
site the statement read that if demands were not met “...
then the martyrdom seekers of the Organization of al-Qaeda
in Britain will target all the political leaders, especially
Tony Blair and Gordan (sic) Brown." The statement went on to
threaten embassies and said the group was “grooming” its UK
youth to carry out attacks in the country.
Drunk Driver receives MAX Sentence
after Laughing about Victim
2 months ago Melissa Arrington, 27, was convicted of
negligent homicide and two counts of aggravated DUI for an
accident that killed Paul L'Ecuyer last December 2007.
Arrington received 10½, just 1 year short of the maximum
sentence when Superior Court Judge Michael Cruikshank said
he found a phone recorder of her talking to an unknown male
friend. The friend stated that she should receive a medal
and a parade for killing a, "tree hugger, a bicyclist, a
Frenchman and a gay guy all in one shot." Arrington laughed
and when the friend stated that it was terrible to say she
told him "No, it's not."
Kucinich Calls it Quits.
Ohio Congressman and presidential candidate Dennis
Kucinich has told his hometown newspaper that he will be
leaving the presidential race and will make a formal
announcement Friday. The 61 year old congressman said,
"There is a point at which you just realize that you, look,
you accept it, that it isn't going to happen and you move
on." His announcement comes amid limited support and funding
for his campaign as well as challenges for his congressional
seat. Despite the growing popularity of his anti-war views,
he has found it harder to garner support than when he ran in
in 2004 |

Arrested
10-Year-Old Had a Kitchen Knife and a
List
10-year-old Christopher Curtis was
arrested after a disturbance on a school
bus. Officers conducted interviews and
determined that the boy, a day earlier,
had made a list of classmates he
disliked and had a kitchen knife in his
possession. Students informed police, in
the early morning altercation, about his
list and the boy was promptly arrested
and brought to the Juvenile Assessment
Center. Curtis claims to have brought
the kitchen knife to cut an apple with.
Chris was suspended before this incident for taking a toy gun to his Vista
Lakes Elementary school. |

Detroit Mayor
Questioned About Honesty
Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick swore
under oath that he had not had an affair
with his top aide. The mayor got into
trouble when 14 thousand text messages
between the mayor and his aide exposed
their trysts. The mayor may face perjury
charges. The mayors denial of his affair
came in testimony in a lawsuit by two
law officers that claimed they were
fired for investigating the the mayor
using his security unit to cover his
cheating. The officers won a 6.5 million
award in the suit. Mayor Kilpatrick said
"I'm absolutely blown away at this
decision. I know Detroiters are, too".
Kilpatrick is married with 2 children
his aide is married with 3 children. |

Man Robs Middle Aged Woman - Who Has a
Black Belt and Runs Marathons
A 24-year-old burglar has been arrested and charged with
possession of stolen property, grand theft, battery, and
burglary after he robbed the house of a 53-year-old woman
who turned out to have some unexpected skills. The home
owner, Margot Foster, runs marathons and has a martial arts
black belt. When she spotted the burglar in her home she
gave chase. Six blocks later she subdued the young criminal
who collapsed out of breath. According to police the
24-year-old is likely responsible for a spate of crimes in
the area. At this time he is in police custody.. |
